14 years of activity (the first angel group founded in Italy in 2007), 97 investments, 248 million raised by start-ups invested by IAG members and 11 exits.
"We have refined the methodology for evaluating start-ups and above all, with the growth of the network, support for our investments" - explains Antonio Leone, IAG President - "Today, over 220 IAG business angels have access to many investment opportunities and to give back their professional experiences".
2020 closed with a historic record for IAG angels: 25 investment deals for a total of € 68 million raised by angels and other co-investors (including venture capital funds, other angel clubs and family offices). In 2020 venture capital market recorded transactions for a total of over 700 million euros, confirming the strategic positioning of IAG as a pillar of the Italian start-up ecosystem in support of entrepreneurial projects innovative. Business angels are often alongside entrepreneurs starting from leaving universities, research centers and accelerators, up to the international growth of the most promising companies.
IAG angels participate in investment transactions ranging from 200 thousand to over 10 million euros, supporting very different life stages of the companies. The experience and active contribution of the angels give a significant boost to start-ups and facilitate the involvement of the most appropriate stakeholders (funds, companies, financial institutions) from time to time. IAG makes the enhancement of the network its winning asset thanks also to partnerships with entities such as LVenture, Doorway, Banca Generali, Lazio Innova and collaborations with corporate partners such as Mastercard, Novartis, MSD, KPMG and BIP.
