Vinci, 27 November 2025 – GEVI wins the second edition of the Energy Innovation Cup.
The Pontedera-based startup, located in the province of Pisa, develops next-generation vertical wind turbines equipped with self-learning artificial intelligence, capable of adapting to any wind condition, even in urban environments or on rooftops with low wind levels. GEVI operates in the renewable energy technology sector, a rapidly growing field: faced with the increasingly urgent need to reduce emissions and combat climate change, companies are seeking clean, efficient and sustainable energy solutions. The energy transition involves not only energy production, but also its distribution, storage and intelligent consumption.
In this dynamic and constantly evolving context, the second edition of the Innovation Cup took place. The initiative is promoted by Enegan, an energy partner specialized in guiding companies towards a green transition, and IAG, a leading group in Italian venture capital that aims to support entrepreneurship and projects capable of driving radical technological development, connecting them with major companies and providing tools to increase their potential.
The competition was created with the goal of giving visibility to startups developing innovative and sustainable energy solutions, offering them the opportunity to present projects capable of driving technological change and the transition to cleaner energy. The more than 25 participating startups responded to the challenge with great creativity, presenting diverse and pioneering ideas: from the application of artificial intelligence to optimize energy consumption in homes, to digital platforms that support companies in sustainable management and alignment with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda, all the way to technologies capable of revolutionizing the production, storage and distribution of unconventional renewable energy sources, opening new paths toward a more efficient and environmentally friendly future.
Through a rigorous selection process conducted by Enegan managers and collaborators, the three finalist startups presented their projects during the closing event. The award ceremony, held at Enegan’s offices in Vinci, celebrated the winner, GEVI, which will now have the opportunity to collaborate with Enegan to develop concrete projects and propose new solutions in the field of the green economy.
The event not only recognized the excellence of the participating startups, but also fostered interaction among them, Enegan, and the investors of the IAG network, opening doors to future partnerships and creating a favorable environment for the development of clean technologies.
The second edition of the Energy Innovation Cup is therefore confirmed as a catalyst for ideas and opportunities in the Cleantech field, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in sustainability, as explained by Carlo Tassi, IAG President: “Our mission is to create connections between innovative ventures and established companies, turning ideas into concrete opportunities and valuable projects. We are excited to carry forward this initiative with Enegan: at a time when sustainability is increasingly central, we want to support projects capable of making a difference and leaving a real impact on the future.”
Looking ahead, the collaboration between Enegan and GEVI will continue to stimulate research into advanced solutions in the clean energy sector, promising new challenges and opportunities also for other startups that aim to emerge in the clean-technology landscape. The transition toward a low-environmental-impact future is made possible thanks to the joint commitment of Enegan, IAG and the entrepreneurial minds shaping the Cleantech industry, laying the foundations for tomorrow’s smart energy management.
The Innovation Cup has proven to be a successful initiative, offering visibility, collaborations and support to emerging startups, as explained by Andrea Guarducci, President of Enegan: “We are truly proud to have given continuity to the Innovation Cup project. Supporting startups with innovative ideas in our sector, beyond being an activity that companies should embrace as a mission, represents added value for us. After the first edition, we already had the opportunity to collaborate with the winning startup and its revolutionary project. For this edition as well, we are convinced that new business opportunities may arise. Thanks to the Innovation Cup, we are able to combine expertise and develop synergies that help enhance winning ideas for the future. We thank IAG and all the startups that participated in this initiative, hoping there will be more and more opportunities to encourage and reward young entrepreneurs whose philosophy is a better and more sustainable world.”
